Neighbor work · not a clerk vote

Two neighbors put tools in your hands.

These are not DeFlock Tampa pages. They are public neighbor work. We reprint a short excerpt and send you to the original. A letter is not a vote. A petition is not a ban. The cameras stay until a body acts.

Plant City · sample letters to the Commission

Posted 30 Aug 2026 · Joanna MaGrath

Plant City Commission · 302 W Reynolds St

Dear Plant City Commission. Sample letters to remove Flock cameras.

Public Patreon post · three sample letters

Joanna MaGrath posted three sample letters for neighbors to send. Her instruction, as printed:

Very Simple.... Pick a letter you like, there are 3 samples and send them to your Plant City, City Commissioners.

The samples ask the Commission to pause further expansion, run a full public review, and take the Flock system down. They are templates, not a filed petition and not a clerk outcome. Monday 24 Aug was a presentation, not a vote. The next regular meeting is Mon 14 Sep 2026 at 6:00 PM.

Write them: Commission@plantcitygov.com. Mayor Nathan Kilton. Vice-Mayor Jason Jones. Karen Kerr. John Haney. Mary Thomas-Mathis.

Ban flock cameras in Hillsborough County

Change.org · 9 verified signatures as of 30 Aug 2026

Brittany Cumbie started a county petition the same day. It is neighbor work. It is not a county agenda item and not a win. Nine verified signatures is a start, not a mandate. Sign it if you live here and want the ask on the record.

From the petition:

We propose a ban on these flock cameras until a comprehensive, publicly-reviewed policy is formulated, ensuring all installations respect personal boundaries, include clear, accessible opt-out procedures, and are not placed in sensitive or private areas.

The petition also names cameras catching children with no parental consent, and no opt-out. That is the starter's language. It is not a clerk finding.
