Putnam ordered all 18 readers disconnected and said it is canceling the contract until the legislature sets rules. Volusia said it is shutting the system down immediately and will not resume without a statewide legal framework. Bradford, Baker, and Clay issued similar stop or remove statements. Lake County commissioners voted 5-0 to begin revoking license plate readers in county right-of-way. A second motion, 3-2, invites the sheriff to brief the board within a month. This is a board vote on county right-of-way, in press. Official minutes are not on this page. It does not, by itself, pull city or private cameras in Lake County. It is not a Hillsborough vote.

After about two hours of public comment, the Leon County Commission pulled or denied Flock-specific grant money (about $440,000 for regional ALPRs). Staff said the dollars were pass-through for neighboring counties, not a Leon County camera buy. Other grants in the package were kept. Commissioners said a later workshop would take up regulation.
Headline wording differs: some outlets said “rejects,” others “pull,” “delay,” or “blocks.” What is consistent is a packed chamber and a named motion to strip the Flock line while the rest of the grant moved. This is not a vote that took existing cameras down.

City Council directed an investigation. City Manager Matthew Morton and Police Chief Jeff Spears suspended the Flock system after a preliminary review that the vendor may have skipped city permits or installation rules. Press reported cameras taken offline and hooded so residents could see they were not collecting data. Staff said findings go back to Council. Officials had not announced whether the system returns.
This is a staff suspension pending review, not a Council vote to cancel the contract or pull the poles.

City Council voted unanimously to end the city’s Flock Safety contract and take the remaining license-plate cameras offline. CBS Minnesota reported the Monday vote as canceling and paying off the contract; cameras were already being covered. Local coverage also said the written term could run through the last paid year even after service was shut off, and that staff had already cut data sharing and logins. About 12 cameras were in the program (fixed plus flex units, as reported).
This is a council vote to end service, not a Florida Chapter 119 example. Treat “pay off” as press wording, not as a copy of the invoice.

The city said it turned the Flock system off and will end the contract. Mayor Corey Woods, in a city statement dated 26 Aug 2026, said the cameras helped officers and that the risk of misuse was too great. FOX 10 and KTAR both report the city will not seek another ALPR company. That is not a Flock-to-Axon swap.
Poles may stay until Flock Safety removes them. Old scans delete after 30 days unless tied to a case. ASU campus Flock is a separate contract and stays. Tempe said its own audits found no misuse. Press counted 33 city cameras.
This is a city shutdown with a no-replacement statement. It is not a Florida clerk packet. Newsweek used Tempe as the lead on a national map. Newsweek also said some other towns that drop Flock hire Axon or another ALPR. Tempe is not in that set.
